Overview

Gangtok is the capital of the mountainous northern Indian state of Sikkim. Established as a Buddhist pilgrimage site in the 1840s, the city became capital of an independent monarchy after British rule ended, but joined India in 1975. Today, it remains a Tibetan Buddhist center and a base for hikers organizing permits and transport for treks through Sikkim’s Himalayan mountain ranges.

Itinerary

Day 01 : NJP/ Airport – Gangtok (125 kms)

Upon arrival at airport/ Rlwy station meet our representative and pick up and transfer to Gangtok Capital of Sikkim 4 hours travel, the cleanest Hill station in North east India, travel on the parallel to Mighty River Teesta , reach Gangtok check in Hotel and overnight at hotel

Day 02 : Full Day Tour to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir (13000ft)

In the morning after breakfast go on full day excursion trip to, Tsomgo Lake (12400 ft), and Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir which is only 35 km. from Gangtok, the lake is about 1 km long, oval in shape and 15 mtrs deep. The lake is considered sacred by the local people. Spend the evening at Gangtok for shopping and individual activity.

Day 03 : Gangtok to Lachung (North Sikkim)

Morning at around 10:00 a.m. transfer to Lachung (6 hours). En-route visit Water Falls, Singhik view point from where one can get one of the most spectacular and close views of Mt. Khancendzonga and its ranges. On the way lunch, Tea break at Chugthang-sub-divisional town of North Sikkim. Arrival at Lachung stay have tea or coffee, take early Dinner and Bed for early wake up.)

Day 04 : Lachung- Yumthang-Gangtok

Morning after breakfast excursion trip to Yumthang valley 24 km from Lachung at 11800 ft. Its known as valley of flowers- with marvelous blend of flora & fauna and hot springs and after Lunch transfer to Gangtok stay. If you wish visit Yumesamdong called (Zero point) at the height of 15300ft. 25km.from Yumthang valley , zero point is a India-Tibet Autonomous Border, its an angelic valley that is renowned for its scenic beauty in Sikkim. Pay to driver 2500-3000/- extra payment for this spot.

Day 05 : Gangtok – Bagdogra Airport

After breakfast check out from the hotel and transfer to Bagdogra airport Minimum 4 hours driving distance, if you have evening train you can enjoy Rafting on the way at Teesta River. Tour end at this point and boarding with sweet memory of Northeast. If you have train in the evening then you can opt for NJp transfer on the way diversion visit Mirk, and Pashupati market (India-Nepal Border) and beautiful Tea Gardens. You can take a lunch break at Mirik at Hotel Jagjeet or Siliguri.
